Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande is currently serving her third term in the New Jersey Assembly, now representing the 11th Legislative District. Assemblywoman Casagrande is a member of the Assembly Appropriations Committee and the Women and Children Committee. She is the youngest member of New Jersey’s 215th Legislature, and the youngest Assemblywoman ever elected in New Jersey.
Assemblywoman Casagrande is a lifelong resident of Monmouth County. She graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School, the Pennsylvania State University, and Rutgers School of Law, before returning to Monmouth County to practice law. Assemblywoman Casagrande served as a partner in the firm of Menna, Supko and Casagrande, in Shrewsbury, and as municipal attorney to Manalapan Township and special counsel to Fair Haven.
She is an active member on the Board of Trustees of the Visiting Nurses Association of Central Jersey, and the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of the JerseyShore. Additionally, Assemblywoman Casagrande serves as the Director of the Women's Leadership Institute, a program designed to nurture the leadership skills of select high school juniors from throughout Monmouth County.
Assemblywoman Casagrande served as a Commissioner for New Jersey's Congressional Redistricting Commission.
Assemblywoman Casagrande is the recipient of numerous accolades including being named Legislator of the Year by the Constitutional Officers Association of New Jersey. She was also given the Guardian Of Small Business Award by the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the Today's Youth Asia Young Achievers Award, the Pennsylvania State University Alumni Achievement Award, and St. Catharine School Distinguished Graduate. In 2010, she participated in an exchange program to Nepal as a delegate of the American Council of Young Political Leaders, an organization affiliated with the United States Department of State. She is a graduate of the Emerging Leaders Program of the State Legislative Leaders Foundation, a program for which she was nominated by Speaker Oliver.
Assemblywoman Casagrande is a resident of Colts Neck, where she lives with her husband Stephen Chance, sons Harrison and Teddy, and her beagle, Winston Churchill.
